Public and private buildings of architectural interest open their gates to the public free.
Over 100 buildings throughout the city, from iconic public buildings to houses – architectural gems, open this weekend (1-2 / 4) their doors and wait for the Athenians or visitors of Athens who love architecture to meet the greatest DIY tour. The Open House Athens returns for 4th year, reinforced with parallel events, such as tours to places where people are active the creative community of Athens, workshops for children, bicycle tours etc.
Filled with innovative themes such us Open Embassy (30-31/3), Open Tours (1/04), Open School (31/03) , Open Bike (1-2/04), Open Photo (31/03-9/04) and even more actions , Open House Art is one of the most important international institutions for the promotion of architecture. The idea started in London in 1992 and has so far spread to more than 35 cities worldwide.
Open House Athens 2017 is held under the aegis of Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Tourism, the City of Athens, the Greek Institute of Architecture, EOT and with support from the Hotel Association of Athens and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
