The Wave Awards are given every year by cruise trade publications of UK-based Real Response Media: World of Cruising, Cruise Trade News and Cruise Ports & Destinations. Its website says that “Based on rigorous assessment by an independent panel of cruise travel experts and separate public voting, The Wave Awards will set benchmarks for achieving excellence in this significant growth sector of the travel market.”
This is the second annual awards. Royal Caribbean was voted best cruise line. In total, 34 awards in different categories were given. Other categories include Best Cuisine, and Best Entertainment. Those awards were chosen by a panel of experts.
Seven awards were given in the Passenger Favorites category, which were voted directly by passengers. Viking Cruises was voted Best Cruise Line, and Greece won for Favorite destination. Other favorites were Barbados and Croatia.
The dream of a cruise to the Greek islands is a favorite of many would-be tourists, and it’s natural that those who have actually done such a cruise would rave about it.
